The recruitment agency doctari, specialising in placing doctors and nursing staff, needed a unique and flexible office space for their growing team in Hamburg. ME-made GmbH provided expertise in consulting and design to create a workspace that reflects the company’s identity while embracing New Work principles. This second New Work Space for doctari was tailored to meet the needs of employees and the evolving requirements of the business.
New Work spaces must integrate individual employee needs, team dynamics, corporate culture, and the physical environment. At doctari, flexibility and individuality were key, with modular furniture and functional spaces that could adapt as the company grew. The design focuses on creating a comfortable, efficient atmosphere without the typical open-plan office feel, ensuring that both team and management feel at home while working.
The Hamburg office includes areas for both social interaction and quiet, focused work. Spaces like glass phone booths, a library, and a small workshop room offer privacy for concentrated tasks. Natural materials like wood and felt are used throughout, creating a cohesive, calming environment, while ergonomic, flexible furniture allows for quick reconfiguration. The design blends industrial elements with warmth, with contrasting wood and steel in the meeting room and personal work islands throughout the office, ensuring a balanced, functional, and welcoming space.
