Doctari – New Work Office Hamburg

The recruitment agency doctari places doctors and nursing staff. For this growing healthcare company, a unique and flexible office in Hamburg was created, designed according to New Work principles.

How do you create a workspace that meets the needs of employees while also fulfilling the requirements of the company? And what does a beautiful, functional office design that reflects the company’s identity look like? The personnel recruitment company doctari relied on the consulting and implementation expertise of ME-made GmbH to design the second New Work Space for the company in Hamburg.

When it comes to New Work, the individual needs of employees, team interactions, corporate culture, and the spatial work environment must all be integrated into the design concept. Individuality and a high degree of flexibility are crucial in the daily work life at doctari. Additionally, the company’s steady growth demands that all workspaces be functionally furnished and that the furniture be modular. At the same time, both the team and management place a high value on creating a comfortable atmosphere in the office spaces. All these factors were incorporated into the design concept and implemented according to the design-to-cost model. The result: flexibility and efficiency without the typical open-plan office flair.

The Hamburg concept, like in Berlin, includes public areas as well as spaces for quiet, focused work, discreet conversations, or meetings. Social interaction spaces were also considered. On all floors, cave-like situations such as glass phone booths, a library, and a small workshop room provide places for concentrated work. The open spaces emphasize a sense of community, while natural dividers like light wood cabinets and numerous green plants create personal work islands. The furniture focuses on ergonomics and flexibility without being tied to a specific location, allowing new seating and work situations to be quickly created. The use of a few materials, such as wood and felt, underscores a clear and natural room structure. In terms of lighting, the concept employs holistic planning to create a natural atmosphere. Work desks, chairs, and sofa elements are supplemented by purchased furniture that is part of the overall design. Cabinet systems and a large cave unit for undisturbed phone calls and one-on-one meetings are based on the architects’ furniture designs. In the spacious meeting room, nature meets industrial character. The deliberate contrast of wood and steel makes the area feel both warm and friendly as well as raw and unpolished. Aside from the workshop and meeting areas, all floors have wall elements with whiteboards and pin boards to quickly capture ideas outside the classic meeting environment.
